Smaller bedrooms can be a challenge to keep uncluttered, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Take your small space from compact to comfortable with these clever tricks.
Under-bed storage. Expand storage without using additional floor space. Do-it-yourself by adding risers to your existing bed frame and an extra-long bed skirt to hide the storage bins stashed underneath. Alternatively, invest in a new bed that has built-in drawers or hidden under-mattress storage.
Maximizing vertical space. Often overlooked, your bedroom walls are literally a blank canvas to add valuable storage and expand floor space. Remove bulky bookshelves or storage bins off the floor and add wall shelving or a floating unit higher up.
Double-duty furniture. Headboards that double as a bookshelf, armoires that fold out into a tabletop, or wardrobes with mirrored doors are just a few examples of multi-functional pieces that can enhance a smaller bedroom.
