Canada Day Southern Georgian Bay 2023

Looking for some great ways to celebrate the first long weekend of the summer in Southern Georgian Bay? Luckily for you, there are a variety of events going on along the shores of Georgian Bay!

Stop by Collingwood’s beautiful historic downtown core to find a Celebrity Pancake Breakfast from 8am – 11am on Saturday July 1st in front of Town Hall. The meal will be prepared by Celebrity Chefs, $5 for adults and $3 for kids, with an awesome photobooth & wonderful live music to enjoy! While at Town Hall enjoying your pancake breakfast, be sure to stop by the Lego Creative Kids Zone between 10am – 4pm to build & create with over 15,000 LEGO blocks! The Collingwood Farmers Market will also be set up at the Pine Street parking lot from 8am – 1pm to enjoy local artisans and vendors. To showcase our many talented Canadian artists, check out Music STOMP featuring 10 artists at 4 locations across downtown Collingwood, full music schedule can be found below. Don’t miss the Family Bike Parade at 10am starting at Trott’s Sports Excellence on Hurontario St; Decorate your bike to show your Canadian pride! Prizes for the best decorated bikes! At 12pm gather around the Federal Building to witness the citizenship reaffirmation ceremony & enjoy a delicious Canada Flag cake donated by Loblaws! The 12th annual rubber duck race will occur at the Hulme Street bridge promptly at 2pm; tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10! Wrap up the day with a wonderful performance by Coming of Age & Spencer Mackenzie at the Shipyards Amphitheatre starting at 6:30pm

Visit Thornbury and Clarksburg for a Canada Day parade through both of these charming small towns, heading north on Marsh Street to King Street, Thornbury at 11am! Stop by the Thornbury harbour parkette for an afternoon full of live local entertainment, face painting, cake & caricatures from 11am – 2pm.

If you’re looking for a slower paced day, you can start your morning with yoga at the Meaford pier at 10am on Friday followed by guided canoe tours and iSUP lessons from The Canoe Project until 3pm or catch the Golden Town Cruisers Car Showdown on Bayfield Street, Meaford from 10am – 3pm. Looking for events for the kids? The Kid Zone will be located beside the Rotary Harbour Pavilion from 10am-4pm. and the Meaford Fire Department will be out and about with Sparky the Fire Dog from 12-4pm! Don’t miss a chance to catch the air show hosted by The Dam Pub at 12:50pm!

Head up to Blue Mountain Village to catch live music all day long from 12:30pm – 10:15pm! Fireworks can be seen over the Mill Pond starting at 10:15pm!

Dreaming of spending the day at the beach? Wasaga Beach will be hosting lots of fun down at Beach 1 including a Children’s Activity Tent featuring face painting, made brave studios, the creation station and more from 10am – 4pm. You can catch live music from 2pm until the headliner Bedouin Soundclash graces the stage at 8:45pm, wrapping up just in time for the firework show at 10pm.
